Jon Stewart hammers Paul Ryan over lies and convenient truths | The Raw Story
As usual, Jon Stewart skewers the Republican Party, with specific attention to Rep. Paul Ryan.
If Republicans thought that this week would make millions of Americans all of a sudden collectively forget the last few years of Republican obstructionism and non-action of the Republican Party, they’re probably right.
Republican voters have the brains of squirrels that repeatedly forget where they placed their buried nuts. It’s just the Republicans have forgotten where they put theirs.
They’re just intentionally making fact checking a dirty word now. One of husband’s right wing friends left the link to this on his facebook today. Every time fact checkings mentioned it’s randomly in quotes. And it ended with this:
The problem is that the mainstream press is now abusing the “fact check” label, using it to more aggressively push a liberal agenda without feeling the need to provide any balance whatsoever. And, as the reaction to the Ryan speech shows, they are now blatantly using it to provide air support for Obama.
Is it any wonder that soon after Ryan’s speech ended, the Obama campaign rushed out an ad using the media’s “fact check” stories as its source?
What kind of balance does one need when bringing up facts? And how dare the Obama campaign resort to “facts”, what kind of losers hinge a campaign on that? They’re not hoping we’ve forgotten the past, they’re hoping we no longer care about reality. And for some people, they’re right.
