There had been rumblings this was going to happen all week, and this is fascinating and completely disturbing and not at all surprising.

I hope this motherfucker loses everything.

Reddit’s been banning links to the Gawker network. Talk about self-serving hypocrisy. Apparently free speech only matters when it’s about protecting white, privileged men’s ability to look at borderline child porn and say hateful shit. But it doesn’t matter at all when it comes to a journalist writing about a pervert’s online activities.

Privacy and anonymity are unimportant when it comes to girls and women having their Facebook pictures stolen for wank material. But they are super important when it comes to protecting the creeps who stole them.

Look, fuckos, if you don’t want your online activities to be connected to your real life identity: a) don’t reveal identifying personal details online b) don’t do shady shit online. Simple as that.

FFS, this guy is 49 years old and didn’t understand this.

No, they understand this exactly. All this talk from the most privileged people in America isn’t about free speech or freedom like they keep saying is all they care about. It’s about continuing to be the most privileged group in America and feeling threatened about losing that. And the fact that the one guy says in the article how he stands behind everything hes said and done and wouldn’t change anything but oh god, please don’t tell anyone hes said it shows they know that what they’re saying is incredibly fucked up. Their defense is oh, well it’s not illegal to do these things so we’re ok with it. Then own up to it instead of worrying about everyone you know find out you’re engaging in these totally not illegal things. It’s not a crime so your friends, family, and employers will understand, right? The fact that they can’t own up to it and worry just shows they know while it’s not illegal it’s entirely fucked up to do and they’re lying to themselves as well as everyone else that just because somethings not breaking the law it’s totally an ok thing to do. These people are cowards with victim complexes as well as entitlement issues and internet connections.
